    1. I don’t know if my reply got to you, Laura so excuse the redundancy. Edmonton is the 5th largest metro area in Canada with a population of 1 million although the city is 800,000 plus with 33 km of trails through the river valley which the city is built on but spreads much further. I love the nature here although there are problems- the odd cougar has wandered in which is not goodnews for the animals unfortunately and we have a population of about 900 coyotes. You can go fora bike ride or cross-country ski and almost forget that you are inthe city. I hate the long winters, over half the year but love the nature and the wonderful cultures of the indigenous peoples and immigrants that make this city what it is.
